Joe Turkel, The Shining Star and Prolific Character Actor, Dies at 94

Joe Turkel, entertainer in "The Shining", has kicked the bucket at 94, Fox News Digital affirmed Friday.

"So miserable to share that extraordinary companion and client Joe Turkel has died," Chris Carbaugh, a delegate for Turkel said.

"Joe was a lightning bolt and he was extremely energetic to discuss movies, baseball and life.

Each time we talked he rushed to tell a terrible wisecrack and make me giggle."

Turkel's three Stanley Kubrick films were "The Killing," "Ways of Glory" and "The Shining."

He is generally broadly referred to for his job as Llyod the barkeep in "The Shining."

Turkel also took on a main role as Dr. Eldon Tyrell in "Blade Runner" in 1982.
